Regulation 31 AI Assistant

Regulation 31 is the rule that controls which chemicals, construction products and materials may be put into public drinking-water supplies in the UK. It sits inside the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations and is the legal gateway that forces suppliers to prove—through testing and Drinking Water Inspectorate approval—that anything touching drinking water will not contaminate it. All of the detailed paperwork that water companies, manufacturers and laboratories use—from application forms and advice sheets to British Standards—flows from this single provision. By using the information and relevant context contained in the documents and reports of the 'Regulation 31 package'*  the role of the AI assistant bot is to provide a starting point for Regulation 31 queries. The assistant is more accurate and focussed than generic AI chatbots as it has been specialised to curated relevant data.
