The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) annual reports provide an overview of the quality of public water supplies in England and Wales. This AI Assistant helps users explore DWI reports and related documents. It is designed to answer questions about recent DWI annual reports (in particular annual reports from 2015 onwards), Chief Inspector reports, interim reports, information letters, guidance documents and selected thematic reports. It can summarise key findings, compare years, identify regulatory and operational themes, and answer specific questions about water quality, incidents, compliance, PFAS, Cryptosporidium, discolouration, enforcement activity and company performance.

The assistant uses a Large Language Model with retrieval from a curated DWI document set. Answers are generated from the information available in those documents and should be treated as a structured summary of DWI-published material, not as legal, regulatory or public-health advice.
