Ofwat Discovery Winner Award (February 2024)
Mounce Hydrosmart Ltd in association with RBMTS and the University of Sheffield are thrilled to announce that we’ve been named as one of the of Ofwat’s Water Discovery Challenge Winners! From a field of over 240 bids, 10 innovators are sharing in up to £4.5 million, to demonstrate how their bold solutions can help solve the biggest challenges facing the water sector, today and into the future.
Delivered by Challenge-works with Arup and Isle Utilities, the Discovery Challenge provides consultancy and funding to bold and ingenious innovations to help solve the biggest challenges facing the water sector.
Working with the University of Sheffield and RBMTS the two year ACQUIRE project will analyse drinking water quality incident reports from water companies and other sources using the latest AI techniques (including Generative AI, Large Language Models and Case Based Reasoning) to develop an interactive management tool and online portal benefiting the industry and helping keep customers safe. We will also be exploring using AI in several other decision support application areas.
